TOEFL Speaking rewards a clear structure delivered in 45–60 seconds. These templates remove the planning load so you can focus on delivery.
TOEFL
Task 1 — Independent (45s response)
- 5s: Paraphrase the prompt + state preference. "I would much rather …"
- 15s: Reason 1 with a specific example. "The first reason is …"
- 15s: Reason 2 with a specific example. "In addition, …"
- 10s: Wrap. "For these reasons, I would definitely choose …"
Task 2 — Campus announcement + opinion (60s)
- 5s: State the proposed change in 1 sentence.
- 10s: State the student's opinion (man / woman, pro / con).
- 20s: Reason 1 the student gives — with quoted detail.
- 20s: Reason 2 the student gives — with quoted detail.
- 5s: Brief wrap.
Task 3 — Reading + lecture concept (60s)
- 10s: State the concept from the reading in your own words.
- 20s: First example from the lecture.
- 25s: Second example from the lecture (or the deeper one).
- 5s: Wrap referencing the concept.
Task 4 — Lecture summary (60s)
- 10s: State the lecture's main topic.
- 20s: First subpoint / example.
- 25s: Second subpoint / example.
- 5s: One-sentence wrap.
