Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
This policy explains what data FluentMock collects when you use the website at fluentmock.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We aim to keep this plain and short.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, optional name, and a hashed password if you sign up with email/password.
- Google account: if you sign in with Google, we receive your email, Google account ID, and name from Google.
- Support and contact messages: any message you send us and the email address you send it from.
- Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive only the result of a checkout (success/failure, plan, last 4 digits, billing country) — never your full card number or CVC.
1.2 Information we generate from your use of FluentMock
- Practice data: the questions you answer, your answers, bookmarks, flashcard reviews, and timing.
- Derived progress data: accuracy by question type, weak skills, estimated band/score, and review schedule.
- Technical logs: IP address, browser type, and request timestamps for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
2. How we use your information
- To run the service: authenticate you, save your progress, surface your weak skills, and schedule flashcard reviews.
- To process payments: pass plan and customer information to Stripe so you can buy Premium Access.
- To send the emails you ask for: receipts, password resets, contact replies, and optional study-reminder emails.
- To improve and protect the platform: detect abuse, prevent automated attacks, and fix bugs.
3. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication. If we enable web analytics, it will use privacy-respecting tools and you will be notified before any third-party tracking script is loaded. We do not run advertising trackers.
4. Who we share data with
We share the minimum data needed with these processors:
- Stripe — payment processing (PCI-DSS Level 1).
- Google — only if you choose "Continue with Google".
- Amazon SES — for delivering transactional emails (receipts, password resets, contact replies).
- Cloudflare — hosting and DDoS protection.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.
5. Data retention
- Account and progress data: kept while your account is active and for up to 24 months after your last login.
- Payment records: kept for as long as required by tax law (typically 7 years).
- Email logs: kept for 90 days for deliverability debugging.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Email support@fluentmock.com from your account email address and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
FluentMock is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete the account.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed using a modern algorithm. Payments run on Stripe over TLS. Access to production systems requires multi-factor authentication. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email.
10. Contact
