Receptionist: Good afternoon, Grandview Hotel, how can I help you? Caller: Hello, I'd like to book a room for a couple of nights next month. Receptionist: Certainly. Can I take your name first? Caller: Yes, it's Mr. Stephen Fairchild. Receptionist: Could you spell your surname for me? Caller: Sure, it's F-A-I-R-C-H-I-L-D. Receptionist: Thank you. And a contact number? Caller: It's 07462 958317. Receptionist: Let me read that back: 07462 958317. Caller: That's right. Receptionist: And what dates are you looking at? Caller: We'd like to arrive on the 14th of July and stay for two nights, so checking out on the 16th. Receptionist: Actually, if you arrive on the 14th and stay two nights, you'd check out on the 16th, yes. Let me just confirm availability... I'm afraid we're quite full that weekend. The only thing I have for those dates is a family suite, but it's a bit more expensive. Caller: Oh, what's the rate for that? Receptionist: It's £185 per night, including breakfast. Caller: Hmm, that's a bit steep. I thought your standard double rooms were around £120. Receptionist: They are normally, but we have a special summer rate at the moment, so they're actually £135. However, as I said, they're fully booked for your dates. Caller: I see. What about the family suite? Is there any discount if we don't need the extra beds? It's just my wife and me. Receptionist: Let me check... Actually, I can offer you a smaller suite, a junior suite, for £150 per night. It's still available. Caller: That sounds better. Does that include breakfast? Receptionist: Yes, it does. And it has a nice view of the park. Caller: Okay, let's go with that then. So that's the junior suite at £150 per night. Receptionist: Perfect. I'll just need a few more details. Can I take your email address for the confirmation? Caller: Sure, it's s.fairchild@email.com. Receptionist: Got it. And will you be needing parking? Caller: Yes, we'll have a car. Is parking included? Receptionist: No, it's £12 per day. But if you book it now, we can reserve a space for you in our underground car park. Caller: Okay, please add that. So that's two days of parking at £12 each. Receptionist: Actually, it's £12 per night, so for two nights it'll be £24 total. Caller: Right, that's fine. Receptionist: And just to confirm, the total for two nights in the junior suite with breakfast and parking is £324. Caller: Wait, shouldn't it be £300 for the room plus £24 for parking, so £324? Yes, that matches. Receptionist: Exactly. I'll send you the confirmation email now. Is there anything else I can help with? Caller: No, that's all. Thank you very much. Receptionist: You're welcome. We look forward to seeing you on the 14th.
